The Ultimate Guide to Jewelry RedesignIntroductionJewelry holds sentimental and financial value, but styles and preferences change over time. Instead of letting old or inherited pieces collect dust, jewelry redesign offers a way to modernize and personalize them to suit your tastes. This guide will walk you through the process, from assessing your jewelry to working with a designer and maintaining your newly redesigned piece. This will be a continuing blog and I will add sections of the steps that can be done to learn more on how jewelry can be restyled, redesigned or repurposed into beautiful new designs to wear again. Step 1: Assess Your Existing JewelryBefore diving into a redesign, take inventory of your current collection. Consider the following:Sentimental Value: Do certain pieces hold special meaning?Material Value: Are they made of gold, platinum, or silver? What gemstones are present?Wearability: Why don’t you wear the piece? Is it outdated, broken, or uncomfortable?Potential for Transformation: Can it be repurposed into something new?
